Before I start ranting and raving [and recommending, my goodness] about anything Android, I should at least tell you about my phone.
Last October, I bought a myTouch 3G device from T-Mobile [on contract, of course, since paying $400 for a phone is insane]. It's the 1st gen model, lacking the headphone jack [stupid me for not waiting, I know]. But I digress.
After a few weeks of tinkering with it on Donut, watching as my battery life was sapped away by 3G within 6 hours [at most], I decided to ROOT my phone, in hopes that something good could come out of it.
[commercial break]
The process of ROOTING your Android device is the same thing is Jailbreaking an iPhone/iTouch, which is the act of hacking your device, to access little goodies and other things that cannot normally be achieved through a normally unrooted, factory-set device. More on this later, I promise.
[back to the blog]
So, I rooted it, and I ran a Hero Rom. [see Rooted vs. Unrooted entry, coming soon] Now mind you, Eclaire [Android 2.0] was still a hacker's dream, and Hero was the "in" Rom to have on your rooted device, with the setback of having it super slow at times, with Home Screen load times sometimes reaching 30seconds or more. However, as times went on, more and more people began creating their own custom Roms and such, making rooted devices more tolerable, and making my life more complicated.
Due to the fact that I'm lazy, and I don't feel like typing a MEMOIR, I'll skip ahead a few months to show you where I am at now...
I still have my crappy myTouch 3g [thinking about buying the mt3g SLIDE in a few weeks], and it's running an insane Rom right now. I'll go into specifics as to what my phone currently has later. So I am still using a Rooted phone, but I am not the person to go to if you want help about your phone. I know a few people that can help, but don't ask me, I'm just a critic of ROMs and Apps.
Ok, that's enough about me. Now on to some important stuff...

Welcome
You obviously came here because you are stuck in the Android World, and you are needing assistance or little tips on how to use your Android Device [rooted or unrooted, doesn't matter]. That's great, you came to the right place and the right person. In the future, I will be posting useful apps and stable ROMS on here for you Android Hackers out there that want to run something stable. If you have any comments or anything, feel free to leave em. I'll check this every so often to see how you all are faring with your Android devices. It helps if you also tell me what phone you have, and what ROM you are running [if you hacked your phone, if not, don't worry] so I know what other phone users are doing. Ok?
Enjoy.

Enjoy.
